All Saint's Eve - Amelia B. EdwardsI came across this title while browsing recommendations by Flipkart, and I ordered it after reading author's biography in Wikipedia and reviews in Amazon.
I have to admit that Wordworth has been doing a commendable job of publishing these classics at such affordable prices, unlike Penguin.
Coming to the book, I've read the first 3 stories so far - 4:15 Express, Cain & Number Three - all of them dealing with murder combined with a hint of the supernatural. Looks like the author does try to incorporate surprise endings, but doesn't achieve the level readers are looking for. Nevertheless, stories are easy to understand (unlike Poe, Charles Maturin etc) and would make a wonderful bedtime read..Looking forward to finishing the book
